Frequently asked questions.

How long are appointments?

Our sessions are scheduled for 55 minutes.

How often do we meet?

Typically, when someone first starts therapy I recommend meeting weekly or biweekly, both because this helps with building the therapeutic relationship as well as more quickly and effectively addresses your needs. However, this can be determined on a case by case basis and usually reduces in frequency over time as you feel more stable.

How long does therapy take?

This answer can be different for each individual and is also usually on a case by case basis. For some, therapy can take a few weeks or a few months, and for some years. The most common factors are usually the complexity of the issues you are trying to address, the type of treatment, and at times simply the result of life circumstances.

What types of therapy can be provided?

I offer both In person and Telehealth appointments, and am experienced in a variety of approaches. I can offer an open talk therapy based approach, as well as a more structured approach if preferred including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (PTSD), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and various other skill based work.
